Celery juice, the magical elixir that’s taking the world by storm. But is it really the miracle it’s been built-up to be?
The simple answer is, No
Whilst there is no harm in drinking vegetable juice and adding to your five a day but apart from the benefits of celery such as Vitamin A, Vitamin K, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, folate, potassium, water and electrolytes. Juicing it supposedly releases cluster salts which are not bioavaliable when they are consumed in whole celery but this scientifically does not exist.
All the studies claiming otherwise or supporting the trend, making sweeping statements generally are not researched on humans but rodents and mainly celery seeds.
Furthermore, the origin of the trend comes from a “medical” medium one who has no scientific knowledge or qualifications the trend does not originate from one particular study unlike other health trends in the past so it really has no business receiving this much buzz. The celery trend is a reflection of the world we live in and the power of social media.
