Get the infinitive of any word. (The form in the dictionary e.g to read, lire or to wake up, réveiller) and add ai, as, a, ons, ez, ent for each respective pronoun.
I – ai
You – as
He/She/It – a
We – Ons
You – ez
They – ent
Formula: Infinitive + ai, as, a, ons, ez, ent
Je achèterais – I Will buy
Je lisais – I Will read

It’s sad. I grew up in a large extended French Canadian family, and many of my elders spoke French as their first language. I practiced with them all through my four years in high school (although there are quite a few differences in the languages) and was quite fluent. But if you don’t use it, it filters into some back room in the brain! Thank you!

I see. Well that’s great that you had fluent family to practice with at the time. Absolutely! It’s definitely still there, because our brain is a remarkable muscle. Everything you have ever learned is up there, it’s just the strength of the neural pathways (they make up everything you’ve learnt). No problem at all, bonne chance!
