Avoir and Être are super important verbs used to construct many tenses (see previous posts) in describing yourself, others and the world around you. You definitely need to learn these off by heart as they are basically the essentials of this language. Cover and test yourself and then repeat, repeat and repeat even more.

Je suis – I am
tu es – You are
il/Elle est – He/She is
Nous sommes – We are
Vous êtes – you are (formal singular or plural)

Avoir – to have
