I was watching Valeria Lipovetsky’s igtv (an influencer I really enjoy following) and I know it may sound like a very trivial thing or something really so obvious but she brought up the notion of thinking about WHY we do everything. Why you do all the things you do in your daily routine? For example why do you wake up at 7am every morning? Why do you have breakfast first? Why do you or do you not workout? Why do you drink coffee? Why do you do the job you do everything?
This then, I believe allows your mind to segue-way into your why in life and what the purpose of your individual life is.
I think, if we try and do this every day as much as possible with all the task we do, especially when you’re feeling unmotivated, when you’re procrastinating, when you’re feeling down, thinking about how that will serve you and putting everything into perspective. I think it also makes you a much more present and conscious human and more human as a whole because I think a really issue we all have as human is that we act too impulsively or act too much on selfish desires and animalistic evolutionary habits when we are human and being human gives us that ability to really think deeply and empathise.and I think that human ability gives us real power and real ability to live such a rich, fruitful and love filled life. I f we all connect with our why’s for everything, perhaps why you feel animosity toward someone or a group of people, why you dislike a family member, why you are no longer talking to an individual. If we really dig deep and rethink about everything and put ourselves in other people’s shoes I honestly think it makes life so much more difficult to hate others, to think anything is out of our capacity and to ultimately be unhappy.
Even if you can’t relate to all this or think this is jargon, I encourage you to take one thing from this and that is just question Why about everything you do and I promise you your life will change, in a good or necessary way.
P.S Honestly, not trying to self promote but I honestly think I could express my thoughts in a much more articulate way via my podcast so I’ll make sure to mention this in my next one. My podcast is called Outspoken Scientists, it’s avaliable on Apple podcasts, Spotify and so many other places.
Sending lots of love and positivity your way.
